So Long Weekly Reader
I've been a illustrator for a long time. In the past years it's been really sad watching print publications close down one after another.
I was sad to hear this news about Weekly Reader. For many years Weekly Reader has been a good regular client of mine. I've worked with some really great art directors and became friends as well. Best of luck to those who are moving on.
You can read the article from here. http://nyti.ms/NQFm00
Here is one of the many fun illustrations I did for Weekly Reader. I'll post some more when I can.

What does an elephant carry it's groceries in?
Through out the years it's really sad to see one magazine after another close their doors.
Always great to see ones that are hanging on.
This one was done for a children's magazine joke page. It's still a great feeling to see your work in print. Oh and the answer...it's trunk!

Operation
As a kid I loved the game Operation. I spent hours and hours playing that game trying not to let metal on metal touch and making that big red nose not light up and buzz!
I recall the wishbone the hardest to piece to remove.
How could I not be thrilled when Boys' Life called and ask me to do a take on the game with real body parts!
Here is the original art . Allt he space on the right side was for the text.
Now if I get to illustrate Mouse Trap game next!
See ya real soon ...Mike
