The Hook
Well, the 2011 baseball season is coming to an end.
For Trout Johnson of the Barrels the season ended along time ago.
I based the pitcher on a bunch of former NY Yankees
1) David Wells
2) Sparky Lyle
3) Fred Flintstone
The manager is based on the great Casey Stangel with a touch of Joe Torre with his hands in his back pockets.

The Walking Dead
In honor of the season 2 of The Walking Dead I resurrected this illustration I've posted before.
Not thinking I promised my son I would watch something else with him on the same time. No problem I'll just watch the premiere another night.

Mary Blair and some fall cleaning...
My wife was doing a little fall cleaning yesterday when she uncovered this beauty of a book.
It was pass down to her as a child.
Mary Blair did the cover art and the interior art was illustrated by Al Dempster and Bill Justice.
Copyright of the book is from 1947

Are You Related to A Rock Star
Just about this time last year I got a call from Scholastic asking if I would like to illustrate a book titled "Are You Related To a Rock Star".
I'm a big music fan so this was a fun project.
What rock star would I like to related to? Geez... I love the Beatles , Paul McCartney and George Harrison would be a nice start.
Being from NJ I would have to throw in Bruce Springsteen... and a few guys from the Fountains of Wayne!
How about you?

The Blob!
Saturday, I spent a great night listening to music from friends Don Henry, Craig Bickhardt and JD Malone at Steel City in Phoenixville PA.
To my great surprise right up the street from the venue was the original Colonial Theater from the 1958 movie The Blob! What a thrill to see it alive well and still running!
Also if
